I bought it as a second vehicle at the start of the winter. It runs and drives great, mechanically perfect. It has some electrical and cosmetic issues.
It has some typical rust on the drivers side rocker panel, and underneath the lift gate. I coated both of these areas with a rust reformer to slow it's progression and make it look a little better. This Orvis Edition was made to compete with the Ford Eddie Bauer vehicles. It is basically fully loaded with most of the options available at the time, along with its signature paint and interior colors.
The only options this vehicle doesn't have is heated seats, and there is no sunroof. The tow hitch was recently fixed before I bought it through the recall. These normally came standard with the V8 motors, but this one was special ordered with the I6. Brakes and rotors done 4 months ago. Battery replaced 4 months ago.Power steering lines and fluid replaced 4 months ago. Transfer case fluid changed 4 months ago. Walmart looking head unit with auxiliary input. Windshield has a long crack on the passenger side. Cruise control doesn't work, haven't looked into it.
Vehicle Information Center (VIC) stopped working a few days ago. Common problem from the factory due to shotty soldering.A simple resoldering will fix it. I never paid attention to it anyway. Possible that it is actually fried. Only one working speaker, the passenger door. The item "Jeep Grand Cherokee Orvis Edition" is in sale since Saturday, March 19, 2016.
